    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Epic Application & Project Director provides direct management leadership, coordination and communication for the implementation and maintenance of the project, project activities, application, application area, or specialized team. Directly manages personnel with team, identifies strength and weakness of team members, and provides guidance to ensure success of the collective team and individual team members. Maintains the overall planning, scope, tracking, testing, and quality of the project(s) in the application area. Works closely with the Technical Manager, Training Manager & VP of Project Management to coordinate activities. Coordinate all issues that arise for the application and implementation areas. Coordinating all project activities, including implementation, software and hardware, business‐ and IT‐related tasks, , and internal communications and change management, including recruiting and engaging super users and SMEs. Builds collaborative relationships with project leadership, business owners, clinical department users, and other corporate departments to facilitate usage and acceptance of the system.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • MAINTAINS THE SCOPE, SCHEDULE AND QUALITY OF ANY NEW EPIC IMPLEMENTATIONS
    • MAINTAINS THE SCOPE, SCHEDULE, AND QUALITY OF THE PROJECT FOR ALL APPLICATIONS
    • MANAGES AND ASSIGNS RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE PROJECT
    • ENSURES THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY IS ENGAGED IN THE PROJECT/WORKGROUP. COLLABORATES WITH BUSINESS OWNERS IN ALL AREAS ENCOURAGING USE OF DATA TO DRIVE DECISION MAKING
    • ADVISES AND COACHING TEAM MEMBERS BY PROVIDING GUIDANCE ON PROJECT ISSUES, KEY SUCCESS FACTORS OF THE PROJECT, AND LESSONS LEARNED WHILE SETTING CLEAR EXPECTATIONS
    • ENSURES ALL TEAM MEMBERS ADHERE TO SERVICE QUALITY GUIDELINES, AND THAT A CULTURE OF ROOT CAUSE INVESTIGATION IS COMPLETED FOR ALL SIGNIFICANT EVENTS WITHIN SPECIFIED TIMELINE
    • REVIEWS ALL ROOT CAUSE DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATIONS
    • MANAGES THE TESTING PROCESS FOR ALL NEW BUILD (APPLICATION, INTEGRATED, PARALLEL REVENUE CYCLE TESTING, MAPPED RECORD, REGRESSION)
    • INCORPORATES BEST PRACTICE WORKFLOWS INTO THE USER EXPERIENCE
    • Develops training and skill development plans to provide staff expertise in programming, technical and business analysis skills
    • Appropriately matching team member skills to team responsibilities
    • Manages the project from an organizational perspective while attending to detailed tasks
    • Assists as a support contact for the application team
    • Identify and troubleshooting issues
    • Guides workflow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software
    • Serves as a liaison between organizational needs and Epic analysts
    • Serves as a point of escalation for issues requiring coordination, resolution and for multiple teams
    • Maintains regular communication with Epic representatives
    • Works with Epic representatives, your organization's business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs regarding project deliverables and timelines
    • Develops an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows
    • Participates in training and working with end users
    • Holds weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones

    Education/Certifications

     

    • Currently Certified in an Epic application (preferably more than one)
    • 5 years prior Epic experience
    • 2-5 years’ experience leading an Epic application team
    • Multiple go-live experiences
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
