    Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots power plant control systems, Motor Control Centers, Switch Gears, Transformers, etc. in support of efficient generation of power under varying conditions.

    Primary Duties:

    • Complete OGE ICE Training Program.
    • Performs basic maintenance, configuration and calibration of process and safety instrumentation utilized in the multitude of processes involved in electrical generation.
    • Schedules and coordinates daily activities with supervisor.
    • Provides basic troubleshooting and minor programming modifications for programmable logic control systems.
    • Perform required testing of various process instruments and safety systems such as ESD, fire detection and gas detection systems.
    • Completes and publishes calibration and testing reports for documentation purposes.
    • Provide basic AC/DC electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting for voltages up to 480V.
    • Serves as a technical resource to operations personnel.
    • Obtain primary authorized employee (PAE) certification under the lock out tag out (LOTO) procedure.

    Requirements:

    • Associate degree in a technical discipline; OR.
    • High School Diploma or GED combined with One (1) year experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls OR
    • Certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in an Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls or Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Machining field OR
    • Prior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Some experience using multimeters for electrical testing.
    • Some experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic devices in a controlled process environment.
    • Basic hand tool experience in an industrial environment.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to adopt and practice IIF (Incident and Injury Free) philosophy.
    • Basic knowledge of fundamental instrumentation and electrical concepts.
    • Basic knowledge of maintenance, testing, installation and repair of most types of instrumentation and electrical components.
    • Ability to communicate with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
    • Basic computer skills using MS Office.
    • Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers and Human Machine Interface equipment and the ability to make minor programming changes under engineering guidance.
    • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and control drawings.
    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools.
    • Ability to take on additional responsibility.
    • Ability and willingness to work in and receive training on a multi-craft maintenance team.

     

    Working Conditions:

    • May work under hazardous conditions where physical danger exists due to mechanical equipment.
    • Have or obtain all required certifications.
    • May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
    • May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs.
    • May require travel.
    • May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
    • May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
    • Required to complete Power Supply Training Process.
