    POSITION GOALS

    This job description for the Hospitality Runner at Hospitality Health ER provides criteria for the evaluation of the Hospitality Runner position. The Hospitality Runner at Hospitality Health ER functions include providing exceptional support service to the Hospitality Department.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, the Hospitality Runner at Hospitality Health ER will be responsible for, but not limited to:

    1. Stocking all Hospitality Department supplies
    2. Running errands that may include using company resources such as vehicle and credit card; acting responsibly and being held accountable for all purchases on company credit card
    3. Returning all resources to proper place and taking care of all resources
    4. Documenting purchases and time spent running errands accurately to immediate supervisor
    5. Cleaning and organizing Hospitality Department stockrooms and storage areas
    6. Retrieving items from storage facilities
    7. Communicating needs through proper chain of command
    8. Ordering supplies as directed
    9. Handling and delivering prepared foods
    10. Prioritizing patient needs throughout the duration of their stay to include: answering questions and concerns; resolving any issues that may arise; running errands and providing meals
    11. Engaging with all patients, visitors and staff and providing a warm welcome; prepare and deliver refreshments
    12. Adhering to the mission and goals of Hospitality Health ER
    13. Completing daily responsibilities upon arrival and prior to departure of shift
    14. Maintaining patient rooms and common areas within the facility; turning/changing patient rooms; stocking the patient rooms, lobby, and nursing station
    15. Coordinating the inventory of items within the facility to include picking up bulk orders and restocking supplies
    16.  Accountable to the Staff Registered Nurse, the Supervisor, Patient Care Manager, and Director of Nurses
    17. Communicating appropriately with patients, visitors and staff
    18.  Other duties as assigned

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    The requirements for employment with Hospitality Health ER are:

    • Customer service experience; demonstrated ability in customer service practice related to direct patient care in a high volume, high stress environment
    • Critical thinking skills; ability to work autonomously and make efficient use of time and resources
    • Understanding of clinical care and privacy
    • Integrity and responsibility; will have access to company credit card and petty cash, and the company vehicle
    • Current driver's license with no restrictions
    • Ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians
    • Flexibility to meet scheduling demands of department
    • Demonstrated competency of Physical Assessment within 90 days, as evaluated by Supervisor/Hospitality Manager
    • Ability to work outdoors in weather conditions

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • High School Graduate/Equivalent
    • Previous customer service experience, direct patient care preferred
