Specialty Healthcare Billing & Consulting (SHB&C) in Baytown, TX has an immediate need to fill multiple positions across several roles.

DEMOGRAPHIC SPECIALIST

• 1-2 years of experience in medical office

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Experience in verifying health insurance coverage

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

BILLING SPECIALIST

• At least 2 years billing experience in a medical office
• Proficient in medical terminology
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding
• Efficient use of modifiers
• Strong understanding of the Correct Coding Initiative
• Proficient in the understanding of the different types of insurance companies
• Proficient in the use of the internet, Microsoft windows (Outlook, Word, Excel, and all other applicable programs)
• Knowledge of Practice Management/Electronic Health Records system
• Ensure use of Insurance coding edits for optimization of revenue
• Billing PPO insurance, Medicare, Workers Comp, Personal Injury
• Ability to create and implement new protocols as locations grow

COLLECTION SPECIALIST

• 2+ years of medical facility collections experience
• Strong understanding of major health insurance carriers (in and out-of-network)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Superior communication (reading/written/verbal) and organizational skills
• Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive patient information
• Comfortable discussing financial obligations, and working with standard office software
• College experience preferred, but not required

Additional roles include Patient Advocate and Payment Poster.
