    The Culinary Service Associate will work 6-hour or 12-hour shifts and applicants must have the availability to work evenings and weekends.

    ****Position Goals

    The Culinary Service Associate - Culinary Host maintains Department of Health kitchen standards within established policies and procedures of the medical facility. The position performs a variety of duties and will work closely with other departments to assist with taking and delivering food orders to the patients. The Culinary Host will also bring and offer snacks, cookies, sandwiches, etc., to hallways, lobbies, and family waiting areas. When performing the “car hop” duties, the Culinary Host will make rounds to all cars waiting in the parking lot with a cart of snacks and drinks, radio into the kitchen for more supplies and specific orders.

    Position Responsibilities

    The responsibilities of the Culinary Service Associate - Culinary Host are, but not limited to:

    1. Setting tables and trays according to the type of food ordered and the HHER service standards

    2. Taking accurate orders, pre-checking orders and picking up all food and beverage orders

    3. Checking in with patients/guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages

    4. Cleaning and removing trolleys and trays from guest rooms and corridor

    5. Serving guests their food and beverage in a prompt, courteous manner as per the standards sequence of service

    6. Monitoring guest/patient comments immediately and passing on to your supervisor

    7. Having full knowledge of the food & beverage items and their specifications, menu, recipes and style of service, etc.

    8. Having a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend food & beverage combinations as well as up sell alternatives

    9. Reporting guest/patient complaints immediately to the supervisor and ensuring follow up is performed with the guest in a timely manner

    10. Stocking all items in lobbies and fridges for patient accommodations

    11. Completing closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.

    12. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, plasticware, chinaware, glassware, etc., throughout the day

    13. Reporting cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor/EVS

    14. Assisting in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment

    15. Ensuring that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all time

    16. Minimizing wastage and breakage

    17. Communicating efficiently and properly with Kitchen, Order taker and service team members

    18. Monitoring operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully

    19. Having and ensuring a good relationship between the Operations floor, Kitchen and Hospitality

    2. Completing daily responsibilities upon arrival and prior to departure of shift (cleaning, stocking, organizing, etc.)

    3. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; adhering to infection control policies and procedures

    4. Promoting a positive work environment by communicating appropriately with patients, visitors, and co-workers

    5. Being a valuable teammate at all times, when asked to help with other task and/or other duties as requested

    6. Maintaining a professional appearance, including wearing name tag identification and good personal hygiene per company policies

    7. Adhering to the guiding principles and policies set forth by IHS

    8. Maintaining professionalism in job performance and practice

    9. Communicating needs through the proper chain of command

    10. Displaying integrity and honesty

    11. Maintaining a positive attitude towards patients, guests, visitors, and co-workers

    12. Contributing to meeting the mission and goals of Infinite Hospital Services

    13. Adhering to facility, department, HHER safety policies and procedures to include incident reporting

    14. Adhering to the facility's protocols for Hazardous Materials and Waste Program

    15. Adhering to Emergency Preparedness Program and participates in disaster drills as appropriate

    16. Adhering to Life Safety Program and participates in fire drills as appropriate

    Education/Experience

    • ****Hotel Management Diploma holder or similar qualification
    • Previous cooking/food service experience, preferred
    • Food Handler's Certificate required and kept current
