    The Floor Technician will work 12 hour shifts and applicants must have the availability to work a matrix schedule - up to 4 shifts per week, including nights and weekends.

    ****Position Goals

    The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the floors, upholstery, rugs, and curtains. The Floor Technician is responsible for the use and storage of the equipment needed to ensure the floors in the facility are buffed and polished, any area rugs and upholstered furniture are clean and
    presentable at all times, and curtains in patient rooms are changed on a weekly basis. The position follows standard practices and procedures set for the department as well as outlined in the Employee Handbook and the Policies and Procedures Manual. The position complies with regulatory requirements. .

    Position Responsibilities

    Under the direction of the Environmental Service Manager, the responsibilities of the Environmental Service Technician are, but not limited to:

    • Rotating nightly to ensure all floors are buffed and polished

    • Operating mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers, shampooers, and related environmental
      service equipment

    • Maintaining the proper use and storage of the machines and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks

    • Changing out curtains in patient rooms on a weekly basis and ensure cleanliness

    • Maintaining any area rugs in the facility and notify management if any need to be replaced

    • Ensuring all upholstered furniture is clean and presentable at all times

    • Upholding the responsibility for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface floors which includes, floor
      stripping, refinishing, (waxing) and buffing

    • Upholding responsibility for maintaining all area rugs, including spot cleaning, extracting and bonneting

    • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.

    • Upholding responsibility for moving furniture, equipment, and supplies in order to complete tasks

    • Notifying Environmental Services Supervisor any time items or areas need attention other than routine cleaning

    • Maintaining a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company polices

    • Being a valuable teammate at all times, when asked to help with other tasks and/or duties as requested

    • Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment and assists with other duties as assigned

    Education/Experience

    High School Graduate/Equivalent preferred but not required

    Ability to read, speak an write the English language

    Must follow oral and written directions

    Valid Driver's License
