    POSITION

    We are seeking enthusiastic, ambitious, and tech-savvy individuals to help us support and strengthen existing customer relationships and to develop new relationships as our business continues to expand.

    optek products measure specific properties of liquids through their interaction with light. Because the technology behind the measurement is unique, it makes optek products far more interesting and rewarding to sell, compared to many other types of commodity instruments.

    optek Sales Engineers are assigned specific industries and areas and are responsible for the development of sales within that market segment. Their primary goal is to support and retain and our existing customers and to expand our market share by finding new customers and new applications.

    To specify and quote the right system, Sales Engineers regularly confer with customer engineers and plant personnel to assess equipment needs and define the system configuration that will provide the best solution.

    Sales Engineers travel throughout their area to visit existing and prospective customer sites to give technical presentations that explain the technology and the detailed technical aspects of the products. They use their interpersonal skills and product knowledge to demonstrate how optek’s unique measurement technology can be applied to the customer’s process to solve problems and improve control, product quality and yields.

    Needless to say, optek Sales Engineers are well-respected and well-received by customer engineers, scientists and technologists across all industries for the solutions they bring.

    LOCATION

    In North America we are located in Germantown, Wisconsin and we are hiring for this location. However, should we find an ideal candidate who lives outside of the Milwaukee metropolitan area but has easy access to a major airport, we will consider establishing a remote office.

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Qualified candidates must have the following:

    • A degree in science, engineering, or technology, or equivalent work experience in a technical field
    • A good understanding of industrial instrumentation, automation, and process control is desirable
    • Experience in sales, marketing, or product management, preferably in a technical capacity
    • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • The ability to work independently and efficiently, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
    • Valid driver's license and passport (or ability to get a passport)
    • A high level of proficiency in using computers, CRMs, Microsoft Office

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires approximately 25% overnight travel to visit customers at their plant sites and to attend trade events in the United States and Canada.
