SHIFT/PASS DAYS: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Saturday/ Sunday Pass
Flexing hours and availability on weekends and holidays may be required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4 (DDPS4) directs and coordinates community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This DDPS4 provides residential and administrative oversight for 26 homes and 2 Day Programs serving approximately 272 individuals within the Dutchess and Ulster County area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Direct supervisory responsibility for 3 Treatment Team Leaders, a Nutrition Services Administrator, night shift DA3s and other managerial and clerical staff
· Oversight of the Nutrition Services and the Recreation Departments
· Ensures that all program and residential sites are in compliance with all regulatory requirements as well as district policies and procedures
· Provides oversight to management of all resources, including staffing, fiscal, and physical plant issues
· Assisting in any emergency events
· Weekly visits to specified homes and program and off hour visits to all sites required
· Work collaboratively with Taconic's Quality Improvement Department to ensure all State Operated investigations are completed timely, follow regulatory requirements and take corrective action and that Medicaid billing programs are efficiently overseen
· The DDPS 4 is expected to develop strong working relationships with families, union leadership, the Board of Visitors and others involved with the individuals in the overall operation of the homes under their supervision
· Actively participate as a member of the DDSOO's leadership team, chair assigned committees and provide effective leadership to the residential teams in Dutchess and Ulster Counties, The Nutrition Services Department, and the Recreation Department
NOTE: Travel within the five-county catchment area will be required in the performance of the duties of the position. This may include a state-owned vehicle, as available, or the employee’s own car. An employee who uses his/her own car will be reimbursed at current negotiated rates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PERMANENT QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must currently be a permanent Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4 OR be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list
OR
TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law
