Position Overview
This Contract OR/Circulating RN role supports a busy ambulatory surgery center with a high-volume caseload including ophthalmology, ENT, plastics, podiatry, and general surgery. The Circulating RN plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient intraoperative care while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff.
The ideal candidate is organized, clinically confident, and thrives in a fast-paced ASC environment.
Key Responsibilities
Circulate for surgical cases and anticipate the needs of the surgical team
Coordinate OR setup including instruments, supplies, equipment, and implants
Verify patient identity, consents, allergies, and pre-op documentation
Maintain sterile technique and uphold aseptic standards throughout procedures
Accurately document intraoperative care per facility protocols
Assist with patient positioning, prepping, transport, and surgical time-outs
Support efficient room turnovers and case flow
Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, scrub techs, and support staff
Maintain professionalism and reliability within a weekday-only schedule
Minimum Requirements
Active Arizona RN License
BLS Certification
OR/Circulating RN Skills Assessment
Tuberculosis Screening
Background Check
Valid Driver’s License
Experience
OR / Circulating RN: 2 years (required)
