    Job Description

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    The Finance Assistant is responsible for providing assisting the Finance department in general accounting and administrative support to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions and related activities.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Sets up new employees in payroll and accounting systems.

    · Saves and converts timesheet files into pdf format.

    · Assists with field staff payroll processing and billing activities, as needed.

    · Enters payroll timesheets into third party payroll processing systems.

    · Generates and sends client statements.

    · Researches client payments for proper application.

    · Assists with collection efforts on past due accounts.

    · Provides back up support in accounting department, as needed, to ensure continuous processing of accounting related transactions.

    · Sets up new clients in payroll and accounting systems.

    · Maintain vendor manager log.

    · Reconciles monthly insurance billing statements and forwards statements to staff accountant.

    · Fills out employment verifications, as needed.

    · Consistently displays integrity, responsibility, accountability, teamwork and ethics.

    · Performs assigned job duties and responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures and standard practices.

    · Attends departmental and company meetings, as required.

    · Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    · High school diploma or equivalent GED

    · Two (2) years of experience working in an accounts receivable, collections, payroll, accounts payable, or related capacity; or

    · Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    · Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    This position requires regular sitting, walking, standing, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating office equipment, typing using a computer keyboard, viewing a computer screen monitor, and use of a telephone. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting the majority of the time.
