PATH’s HIV, Tuberculosis, and Viral Hepatitis (HIV/TB/VH) portfolio includes programs in multiple countries and continents that involve expansion of community-based care, introduction of new technologies and service delivery models, and strengthening the continuums of care. PATH is seeking a Program Officer to serve as a technical and programmatic resource to ongoing HIV/TB/VH projects in India, Uganda, and Vietnam among others, and to build the HIV/TB/VH portfolio of projects by working with program leaders to research, develop, and draft concept notes and proposals. This position will report directly to the HIV/TB/VH Managing Director and be based in either PATH’s Washington, DC or Seattle, WA office. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Provide direct support to project staff in focus countries, including program management and coordination; research; report writing; project start-up and close-out; and work plan development
• Monitor project activities to ensure adherence to project work plans, timelines, resource allocations, and deliverable schedules via regular contact and coordination with in-country staff
• Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the HIV/TB/VH program and select country staff and partners
• Provide or secure expertise and resources for PATH’s staff and partners in planning, organizing, and implementing activities
• Alert management and solicit input as required in case of the emergence of potential problems
• Research, write and track proposals and business development opportunities for the Program
• Work with in-country staff to document activities and successes, and write abstracts, success stories, journal articles, or other materials to share achievements
• Develop content for PATH communications and external events, including blogs, case studies, policy reports, fact sheets or briefs, newsletters, and PowerPoint presentations
• Conduct research on TB, HIV, viral hepatitis, gender, and/or health behaviors in key focus countries, including identification of critical issues, partners, and potential strategies for response

Required Skills Required Experience

• Master’s degree preferred plus a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
• Experience managing health and development programs with or in developing countries
• Experience in proposal writing and business development
• Experience in two or more of the following technical areas: communications; health financing; private-sector engagement; social and behavior change; advocacy, social mobilization, and communication; gender and/or gender-based violence; monitoring, evaluation, and research; and digital health solutions
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) complex issues in a concise, compelling, and easily understandable manner
• Skilled in successfully working with geographically dispersed teams and working in a multi-cultural environment
• Technical writing skills, such as synthesizing research findings, content for proposal sections, etc.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize deadlines and work in fast-moving environments and teams, while maintaining accuracy
• Ability to travel up to 20%

REMOTE WORK:

PATH continues to evolve to support our employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, most of PATH’s US based positions are temporarily 100% remote, within commuting distance to our PATH offices. When PATH transitions more broadly to in-person work, we will operate with a hybrid workplace model. Hybrid employees must reside within commuting distance to one of our PATH offices. PATH’s US offices are in Seattle, WA and Washington, D.C.
