OVERVIEW: Management Science Associates, Inc., (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for nearly sixty years has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are seeking a Business Process Analyst to join the MSA IT/OPS division which offers data and insight solutions to the Consumer Package Goods industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interacts with user community to understand and document business processes
- Works independently with users and stakeholders to develop functional specification requirements and user stories
- Assists with product backlog management and sprint planning
- Conducts business process analysis and modeling
- Presents current process vs. recommended processes along with value/ROI expectations
- Identifies repeatable process opportunities across support teams and documents shared best practices
- Collaborates with quality teams on test plans and test case execution
- Participates in gap analysis and resolution (which is defining those processes that cannot be exactly mapped into the software) and evaluating optional solutions such as software modification or combined work-arounds to resolve the differences
- Models prototype solutions for potential automation recommendations
- Responds to user requests for information by defining requirements, performing queries, and assisting in writing more complex specifications
- Assists in release and implementation planning
Required Skills
- Requires a four-year degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Math, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Related post-graduate degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.
- Minimum two years’ related experience performing business systems analysis or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience with the software development life cycle and related systems analysis activities
- Prior CPG Industry exposure preferred
- Demonstrated Agile framework experience / exposure
- Experience with SQL and other query/reporting tools
- Analytical ability adequate to perform business/ process modeling techniques
- Ability to relate to clients and various types of users to learn new business processes
- Ability to breakdown and document user tasks into understandable and repeatable processes
- Ability to provide process and automation improvements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel
- Knowledge of SDLC tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps
