BACKGROUND
PATH Kenya is the lead implementing Partner for the USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto which is a USAID project funded by PEPFAR. The project’s focus is to increase use of high-quality, county-led health and social services, prevent new HIV infections, and reduce OVC and AGYW vulnerability. The project is implemented by PATH Kenya with ADS Nyanza as a consortium partner. The project is implemented at the county level, in the community and health facilities in the counties of Homa Bay, Migori, and Kisii, in close collaboration with and support of county health management teams, department of children and social services and the Ministry of Health of Kenya.
JOB SUMMARY
PATH Kenya through USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto Project seeks to recruit a Grants and capacity building officer who will serve as the day-to-day main point of contact for the management and monitoring of the sub-recipients /sub-awards. He/She we will manage the sub-awards with an emphasis on donor compliance, accurate financial reporting, and capacity building. The position holder will be required to collaborate with project and operations teams to maintain financial oversight over sub-grantees, capacity strengthening of the sub-grantee staff, and to ensure strict compliance with donor requirements as well as PATH Kenya policies and procedures. The officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of the respective Subawards and take a lead role in the sub-awards monitoring processes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Required Skills Required Experience
A bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Management, Auditing, Economics, or related field PLUS a full CPA qualification. A masters degree will be an added advantage.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
Detail oriented; high degree of accuracy and strong analytical skills.
Ability to develop and implement training programs for multi-faceted audiences
Ability to interpret funding regulations and develop implementing procedures.
Experience in providing technical assistance to build organizational capacity of local organizations using tools such as organizational capacity assessments and Non-U.S. Organization Pre-Award Survey.
In depth knowledge of United States Government grant and procurement regulations, systems, and procedures for managing complex grant programs with many partners and beneficiaries
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in the NGO sector.
Outstanding communication skills including interpersonal communications, problem solving, strong writing skills and fluency in English.
Advanced Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Business World, Salesforce, and other Microsoft Office products highly desirable.
