POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Sample Manager is responsible for all aspects of sample management including but not limited to, receiving all samples, organizing & maintaining the sample closet, all cross functional communication of sample usage. This person is responsible for maintaining all sample lines to support internal work, during external Market appointments and be the key partner with Merchandising & Styling to ensure samples are accurate. This role will be responsible for partnering with our integrated operations team and owning the full sample life cycle process and will be the point personal for the sample management tool.  This will all be done with the support of a Sample Coordinator role. They will leverage strong relationships across functions including Merchandising, Buying, Sales, Visuals, Styling, Technical Design, Sales, Global Sourcing, and Creative Operations.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain Sample Closet & Sample Archive with support from sample coordinator
• Manage the sample inventory & sample full lifecycle process
• Receive, unpack, steam all samples; market, photography, accessories
• Manage & maintain sample usage calendar and ensure all teams are aware of when samples are available
• Key partner for sample management system for IT partners
• Partner with Merchandising to ensure that all samples are accurate and altered if needed
• Partner with Global Sourcing to track all sample ETAs and advise teams accordingly for any delays, cancellation etc.
• Partner with Integrated Ops & Merchandising Directors to make sure all calendar dates are accurate for the sample process
• Partner with Merchandising team to look over new arrivals & advise on potential subs, then ensure accurate drops are taken out
• Manage sample liquidation process with all channels; including but not limited to: seasonally pack up duplicates, drops, and photoshoot samples for EFW including counting, making boxes and labels, and creating packing list
• Responsible for keeping all of the in-season sample lines in-tact and organized accurately
• Ensuring that the reorganization of current season, past seasons, archive samples are accurate at all times
• Assist visuals teams for market prep, set up and maintenance during all weeks of market and available for all in market samples needs/requests
• Partner with the Design team on any fit changes that may require sample alterations or new samples to be ordered
• Supervise Sample Operations Coordinator and support (as needed) their responsibilities
• Perform other various duties as needed

Required Skills Required Experience

• 3-5 years of related experience in the retail or wholesale apparel industry
• High level of experience and proficiency in Excel
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to prioritize and handle competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
