TEAM DESCRIPTION:

The General Ledger team oversees the monthly close process for the US & Canada Wholesale and Direct to Consumer entities reporting into the Assistant Controller.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will perform general accounting and finance functions, including: balance sheet analysis, P&L analysis, budget planning and report-writing. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Monitor and reconcile specific Balance Sheets monthly
• Prepare various journal entries & determine accruals on a monthly basis
• Responsible for specific operating account budgets, including monthly analyses of actual vs plan, researching expenses as necessary, and providing special reports as needed
• Prepare monthly inventory for US and Canada Retail Stores
• Prepare rent schedules and vouchers for monthly payment and prepare annual rent budget
• Write financial reports as needed
• Update fixed asset data into fixed asset module
• Prepare various fixed asset schedules
• Support and prepare special accounting and finance analyses and projects as needed

Required Skills Required Experience

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting /Finance preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience working as an Accountant or comparable level of experience. Combination of public accounting and private industry experience is a plus
• Experience with an accounting report-writing tool (Management Reporter, BI tool etc.)
• Proficiency using Solomon or related software a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with fixed assets and rent processes
• Strong organization skills, capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously. Able to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong skills in excel, working with complex formulas (i.e. pivot tables, vlookup, sumif, etc.)
• Highly organized, rigorous and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high energy environment
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team.  Is resourceful, creative and able to juggle multiple projects with challenging deadlines
