  • Responsibilities

    Provides on-the-job leadership and task supervision of assigned employees in a department or area of the plant. Acts in a capacity to extend the supervisory abilities of the immediate reporting supervisor in charge

    • Assigns employees to work stations and assigns individual tasks to employees where required.
    • Trains employees, checks their work and corrects improper performance of tasks.
    • Assists the Functional Area Supervisor or Manager with the responsibility of meeting safety, quality, and production goals.
    • Trains and monitors employees in compliance with GMPs and Safety
    • Evaluate new hires during their probationary/evaluation period and recommend retention or termination.
    • Recommends discipline where necessary.
    • Assists Functional Area Supervisor or Manager in in evaluating applicants for employment in assigned department.
    • Inspects equipment for safety and functional operation.
    • Works on malfunctioning equipment reported to maintenance department.
    • Supervises to ensure compliance with maintenance specifications (if assigned to Maintenance department)
    • Assists with the set-up, adjustments, and inspection of production and material handling equipment.
    • Performs various pre-op, PM repairs daily or as scheduled.
    • Evaluate performance of individuals, take disciplinary action, provide coaching and feedback, and recommend dismissal when necessary.
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and ensure complete documentation of preventative maintenance activities.
    • Respond to after-hours emergency and repair calls.
    • Assume certain duties of the Maintenance Supervisor in times of absence.
    • Maintain communication with other supervisors to solve production problems and USDA concerns.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Provides guidance and assistance to employees to ensure compliance with company specified rules and regulations regarding employee practices, worker safety, food safety, security and general behavior requirements.
    • Ensures work area is kept clean and sanitary

     

     

     

    Required Skills

     

    • Some high school or equivalent experience

     

    Required Experience

    • Basic computer competency
    • 1 – 3 years of on the job experience with demonstrated understanding of process flow, quality, efficiency
    • Work is generally performed within a manufacturing environment subjected to temperatures of cold and warm along with wearing the proper PPE, with standard office equipment available along with plant manufacturing environment.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or finger, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen.
