    TEMPORARY POSITION

    SUMMARY

    This position supports the Naval Communication Security Material System (NCMS) Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) Token Management System (TMS) and serves as a Trainer, Auditor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Department of the Navy (DoN) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with the conduct of National Security System (NSS) PKI audits to verify that assigned units properly implement applicable portions of the Registration Authority’s Registration Practice Statement (RPS)
    • Help conduct Local Registration Authority (LRA) training in classroom/remote settings.
    • Assist the government with performance of activities related to training assistance visits and audits (e.g. scheduling, updating training curriculum, and printing certificates)
    • Oversee a small team of PKI support personnel that register and establish LRA and Trusted Agent (TA) accounts which includes, acquiring designation letters, training certificates and compliance verification of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) workstations
    • Perform user identity vetting and verify that the user has both a “secret clearance” and a need for a SIPRNet token
    • Appoint TAs at various local command locations to help facilitate the actual PKI certificate issuance; and ensure TAs have been designated in writing by Commanding Officer and have been properly trained
    • Coordinate with individuals to control the registration process and validate the identification of users
    • Access the Token Management System (TMS) in support of the Certificate Authority, collecting and formatting information that is to be used in certificate issuance, verification of Subscriber, certificate revocation, and key recovery
    • Develop local policies, programs, and procedures designed to fulfill PKI requirements.
    • Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor(s)

    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • Experience operating and/or maintaining DoD PKI systems required.
    • Ability to communicate highly technical information effectively both orally and in writing
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Word and Excel

    REQUIRED LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

    • Current DoD Secret security clearance required
    • DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II Certification required:  CCNA Security, CySA+, GISCP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, or SSCP
