    Osi Vision is seeking Environmental Scientists to support the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Environmental Management Directorate (CZ), Compliance Program Management Office (CZC), Operations (CZO), National Environmental Policy Act Division (CZN), and Technical (CZTQ).

    SUMMARY OF POSITION -

    • Conduct research or perform investigation for the purpose of identifying, abating, or eliminating sources of pollutants or hazards that affect either the environment or public health.
    • Using knowledge of various scientific disciplines, collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of air, food, soil, water, and other sources.

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS -

    • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of engineering, or environmental science, or chemistry, or biology in the environmental management field and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well defined assignments.
    • Knowledge of the occupation to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate factual and procedural information clearly.
    • Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from several possible alternatives.
    • Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and inwriting.
    • Skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform moderately difficult assignments.
    • Ability to read and understand complex US laws, executive orders, and policies; analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
    • Ability to plan and organize work, understand budgeting and planning concepts, and consult effectively with coworkers.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers and management.
    • Ability to learn and apply analytical investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject matter field.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Environmental Science or a closely related field.
    • Five to ten years of environmental science experience; preferably with the US Air Force or US military.
    • Experience with applying scientific methods as well as computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

    ADDITIONAL INFO -

    • Candidates must be US citizens.
    • Candidate will be subject to a US federal government background investigation and a drug screen.
    • Candidate must have the ability to obtain a clearance and a (CAC) Common Access Card.
