POSITION PURPOSE:  We are currently in search of an ENDOSCOPY TECHNICIAN to perform general maintenance and cleaning of endoscopes and accessory equipment; general maintenance of automatic endoscope reprocessors, autoclave and ultrasonic cleaner; specimen handling; transports patients and equipment; computer data entry of patient demographic information; sets up and takes down procedure rooms daily; maintains a working knowledge of electrical equipment (electrocautery unit, processors, light sources), infection control protocols, reprocessing and sterilization techniques, and OSHA guidelines; maintains inventory of medical supplies.   May be assigned to assist with obtaining patient histories by interviewing patients; measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height) and record information on patients' charts; and prepare treatment areas for examination of patients.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a surgical technician assistant program or one year experience as a surgical technician or sterile supply technician.

PREFERENCES: 

• Knowledge of endoscopic equipment and reprocessing/sterilization techniques.
