Job Summary The Young Toddler Teacher supports the healthy development, safety, and learning of children ages 12–24 months. This role requires a nurturing, patient, observant, and energetic educator who can create a warm, responsive environment while following STAR 4 quality standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a warm, nurturing, and responsive environment for infants (ages 6 weeks to 18 months).
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
Observe and document each child’s progress and communicate regularly with families.
Collaborate with assistant teachers and other staff to ensure consistency and quality of care.
Follow all state licensing requirements, health and safety guidelines, and center policies.
Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings.
Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with parents and caregivers.
Qualifications:
Required: CDA (Child Development Associate) or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Bachelor’s preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting.
Strong knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in infant care.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Genuine love for infants and commitment to their healthy development.
