RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examines and tests motors, machinery or mechanical equipment; identifies reasons for malfunction and completes repairs and/or maintenance.
Inspects parts for any changes in dimensions utilizing rules, calipers, micrometers, or other appropriate tools and make necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications.
Installs new equipment and systems and repairs and maintains current equipment and systems as needed and completes preventative maintenance according to plan.
Reviews work in progress; checks and inspects as necessary for conformance to job and industry specifications, and documents/logs all activities.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Assists supervisors in the implementation of training programs; tutor and coach junior technicians, providing training materials and instruction on proper job techniques as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED, or Associate's Degree or Certification in Mechanics/Technical preferred.
At least 4 years’ proven experience as a Mechanic and prior experience with field installations and repairs preferred. Knowledge of or experience with: Change Baker AWA testing parameters for specialized or modified testing (preferred), field balancing and vibration analysis (preferred), operate test panel at 13.8KV (preferred), and operate test panel Dynamometer (preferred).
You must be physically fit and able to stand and walk for at least 8 hours a day, lifting up to 70 pounds.
General knowledge of PC and ability to use Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
Ability to read and understand dimensional drawing, exploded view drawings, and cut section drawings.
Must be willing to travel for training as determined by management, with possible overnight stay.
