    COMPANY BACKGROUND: OUAI is a rapidly growing prestige brand that reflects founder Jen Atkin's simple philosophy – “Life is hard. Looking good should be easy.” Our product line-up categories include hair care, body care, fragrances and supplements. OUAI products are sold domestically at key retailers such as ULTA, Sephora, Target and Kohl's, as well as online at the company website and Amazon. Our products are also sold internationally.

    POSITION OVERVIEW: We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team in our Los Angeles office. While part of this role will be Work-From-Home, it will also require regular visits to our LA HQ. The Accountant will be responsible for Accounts Receivable and Payable duties and be one of the main points of contact with our customers, vendors, and internal employees. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will provide key support to the OUAI team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Accounts Receivable (60% of workload)

    • Generate invoices to customers based on the sales order fulfillment daily.
    • Resolve the account discrepancies by reaching out to retailer contacts, finding out the problems, and getting firm commitments of payment time.
    • Conduct a weekly payment reminder to customers to ensure on time payments.
    • Coordinate with the Sales team on a weekly basis to ensure RMAs are issued.
    • Assist in resolving customer payment issues.
    • Maintain accounts receivable files and records.

    Accounts Payable/Expense Claim (40% of workload)

    • Create bills in Bill.com daily.
    • Verify and create vendor information in Bill.com and Netsuite.
    • Coordinate the corporate card expense reporting with other departments on a weekly basis.
    • Clear the corporate card spending every week.
    • Communicate with vendors to resolve any payment inquiries.
    • Assist in ensuring proper anti-fraud measures are followed.

    Other (10% of workload)

    • Assist with month-end closing.
    • Assist in the yearly 1099 filing.
    • Other ad hoc tasks requested by accounting manager.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
    • 1+ year relevant work experience
    • Solid understanding of basic Accounting principles, credit controls and collection regulations.
    • Experience with ERP systems
    • Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and persistence.
    • Willing to learn.
    • Outgoing personality that enjoys working with customer and suppliers.
    • Proactive and independent problem- solver.
    • Flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
