JOB SUMMARY
OVH US LLC (“OVHcloud” or the “Company”) is seeking a talented and motivated Corporate Counsel to join our team! This role will be instrumental in the success of our legal operations and future growth of the company. The Corporate Counsel will provide commercial legal support to the Company’s sales organization, marketing team, finance department, and other business units. The Corporate Counsel will have an instrumental role in a small yet nimble legal team and will report directly to the General Counsel. This position is based in Reston, Virginia.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, negotiate and advise on complex commercial agreements, including, but not limited to, confidentiality agreements, sales and partner agreements, vendor contracts, software licensing agreements, and consulting arrangements
- Advise sales, product development, marketing, operations, and customer service teams on all associated legal requirements from product development through product launch, including consumer protection and data privacy laws and regulations
- Analyze products, policies and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies
- Stay current on the industry and on relevant laws and regulations impacting our business
- Review and respond to reports of copyright infringement under the DMCA; advise Abuse Team on reports of illegal or abusive content and activities
- Respond to law enforcement requests, including preservation requests, subpoenas, and search warrants
- Manage corporate insurance program, including changes and renewals
- Assist security compliance team with activities related to maintaining rigorous security standards and coverage for OVHcloud data centers, products and internal systems
- Advise on pre-litigation claims
- Identify, champion, and provide training on best practices for corporate policies and procedures
- Advise multiple stakeholders on complex matters
- Build and foster strong internal and external relationships
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 1-4 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with some experience at a big law firm
- Excellent academic credentials, JD with membership in at least one state bar
- Member of the Virginia Bar or the ability to become a Virginia Corporate Counsel
- A hard-worker and self-starter with a “can-do” attitude
- Intellectually curious and eager to engage with the business
- Experience drafting, negotiating and reviewing complex commercial agreements
- Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and writing skills
- Experience working on multiple assignments at once and prioritizing effectively
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve and meet deadlines
- Professional and collegial personality that will interact and work well with others
- Ability to work within an international company and work effectively with different cultures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- Technology transactions experience is highly valued
- Software licensing or cloud computing experience is very helpful
- Experience working with international clients is a plus
