    THE POSITION

    Community Inclusion Specialist (CIS) are responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of individuals with developmental disabilities. This includes direct care of program participants and implementation of strategies included in the Individual Service Plans (ISP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). CISs are considered Mandated Reporters and are required to report any suspected abuse in accordance with California Mandated Reporting Requirements.

    YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Willingness to transport participants in personal vehicle. • Promote Person Centered Thinking, Client Choice, Independence, etc. • Provide Supervision over an adult in need of support in the following areas: Recreation, Socialization, Health and Safety, Community Inclusion, Communication, and Self-Advocacy. • Maintain schedules and routines, record keeping, documentation, etc. • Perform skills training as identified in each participant’s Individual Service Plans which include but are not limited to the following: community inclusion, social skill building, skill acquisition, and behavioral support needs. • Work with individuals with histories of physical aggression. • Participate in the assessment process and collection of data; Report writing. • Attend required training and staff meetings. • Other duties as assigned.

    Oak and Cedar is a Community Based Behavioral day program that provides individualized care to promote increased community inclusion through person centered planning and continued collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Our mission is to provide services to participants with severe behaviors by teaching the skills necessary to become contributing members of the community. Oak and Cedar’s primary focus is addressing behavior deficits and excesses, while teaching social, communication, and vocational skills. With these focuses driving our program, our hope is that our participants will have the tools necessary to successfully transition into the community.
