    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    Under general direction of the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations, the Operations Manager provides direct oversight, leadership, and business direction to the facility teams (cultivation, processing, compliance, packaging, inventory management, sales, security, safety and maintenance teams. The Operations Manager is the owner of day-to-day expense and production performance for the Michigan facility (ies) and for consistent, reliable, high-quality products and/or production. This individual keeps tight control of the senior management-approved budget and oversees operations according to established laws, rules, regulations and standard operating procedures put in place. He or she will have full P&L responsibilities while continuously looking for operational improvement, drawing on data-driven insights to optimize results, and collaborating with senior management as the company scales. This role will be accountable for the operational launch and success of cannabis products through effective planning, process definition, project management, inventory management and sales strategy. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

    • Provides technical and managerial leadership across all facets of the facility operation, (including sales, security, and AR), to drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
    • Drives daily performance accountability across all areas while maintaining highest quality standards.
    • Acts as METRC ‘champion’ for the facility -- performing and instructing others vis-a-vis requisite tracking, measuring, and reporting functions (grow, manufacture, sales).
    • Analyzes relevant data to proactively identify and execute process improvements to maximize revenue, minimize costs and drive enhanced profitability.
    • Implements data-driven tools to monitor KPI's and support data-driven decision making.
    • Ensures training systems are in place to provide necessary training to employees.
    • Manages procurement of all necessary supplies, inputs, and resources for efficient facility operation.
    • Manages all staffing requirements and work schedules to ensure zero disruption in the maintenance of facility operations.
    • Works with Extraction and Cultivation to implement and maintain production schedule(s).
    • Defines and shapes sales strategy and manages sales team(s).
    • Actively monitors MRA bulletins for relevant updates and implements the same where applicable.
    • Works closely with the Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager (QA&CM) to ensure compliance with any and all relevant MRA rules, as well ensuring that all company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are continuously upheld.
    • Oversees the maintenance of the departments, premises, and equipment and ensures the highest level of cleanliness, sterilization, security, and overall facility organization.
    • Manages internal audits.
    • Ensure timely renewal of all licenses.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by senior management.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS/BA or higher education from an accredited institution in an applicable field of study (manufacturing operations, engineering, supply chain, or business).
    • 5+ years of experience in regulated industry including pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods (food) or alcohol/tobacco etc.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and ERP systems (seed to sale tracking system preferred)
    • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations (e.g., MRA, OSHA, FDA, NFPA, etc.)

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 21 years of age per MRA regulations and authorized to work in the US
    • Must be able to clear a background check with no disqualifying infractions
    • Will be required to take a drug screen. Results will be handled in accordance with state regulations and company policy.
    • Able to travel and available to work 45+ hours per week and weekends when requested
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
