Position Summary
The Obstetric Clinical Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients across the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and labor & delivery settings. Working independently within established standards of care, physician orders, and hospital policies, the nurse delivers safe, evidence-based care while supporting patients and their families throughout the maternity care journey.
The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency care, surgical specialties, women's health, orthopedics, dental, ophthalmology, and urology, supported by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of OB nursing experience in:
- Antepartum
- Intrapartum
- Postpartum
- Nursery
- Labor & Delivery
Licensure
- Current, valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
Required Certifications
Must maintain the following certifications throughout employment:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association (AHA)
Required Within 6 Months of Hire
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification
- AWHONN Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Required Within 1 Year of Hire
- STABLE Certification
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO)
