Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner – Full-Time
Salary: $65.00/hr
Location: On-site, Cordova
Schedule: Monday–Friday; flexible scheduling with weekend coverage as needed
Essential HealthCare Solutions, LLC (EHS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality occupational healthcare services in a dynamic outpatient setting. The NP will perform DOT physicals, health screenings, pre-employment evaluations, injury management, and weight loss consultations, while also contributing to employee wellness and risk reduction efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exams in compliance with FMCSA standards.
• Perform pre-employment and periodic health screenings, including medical history reviews, physical exams, immunization updates, and vision/hearing tests.
• Provide clinical oversight and lifestyle counseling for weight management and wellness programs.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat occupational injuries and illnesses in accordance with state practice laws and workplace requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and company protocols.
• Collaborate with clients, employers, and multidisciplinary teams to create individualized care plans.
• Educate employees and employers on injury prevention, workplace ergonomics, and health promotion strategies.
• Support clinical quality and compliance initiatives aligned with best practice.
• Participate in continuous professional development and stay current with best practices in occupational health and preventive medicine.
• Assist with internal audits, program evaluations, and health surveillance data reporting as required. Required Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with focus in occupational or family health.
• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner with an active, unrestricted license in Tennessee.
• Certified Medical Examiner (FMCSA) with at least 2 years of experience performing DOT physicals.
• Current BLS/CPR certification. Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Proven ability to conduct health risk assessments and screenings in a fast-paced occupational setting.
• Strong clinical judgment with an emphasis on workplace safety, wellness, and prevention.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, HIPAA, and workers' compensation regulations.
• Experience with weight loss or lifestyle modification programs and motivational interviewing.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse employee populations.
• Technologically proficient with electronic health records and telehealth platforms.
