    Scope: The Review Medical Physician or Review Medical Officer (RMO) reports to the Project Manager (PM) within the Occupational Health Services (OHS). RMO provides medical services at the on-site Occupational Health Clinic (OHC) at United States Army Corps of Engineers Clinic. The On-site Health Care Provider will provide physical examinations for medical surveillance, deployment, pre-employment, post-exposure, fitness for duty, and return to work for the Government population for that USACE district. The RMO is responsible for the interpretation and analysis of medical examination results in accordance with contractual and regulatory guidelines for various occupational examination and screening programs. Medical services include providing medical determinations for occupational medical surveillance programs (e.g. asbestos, silica, and other medical clearances), review of medical history / medical exams and diagnostic testing, vaccines, respirator medical clearance, audiometry, spirometry, etc. In addition, the RMO provides support to on-site health clinic to implement and continuously improve the USACE employee health and wellness program. This is a casual Clinicposition that can be scheduled a maximum of 16 hours per week contingent to operational requirements. The RMO is scheduled to report to the USACE facility as scheduled.

    All healthcare services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, training, scope of practice and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    •Consistently exercises exceptional attention to detail in the review of examination and diagnostic results. •Thoroughly applies contractual and regulatory guidelines and interprets exam results to render quality medical determinations as to job position eligibility, medical surveillance, and regulatory and contract compliance. •Exercises considerable latitude in independent decision-making and judgment. •Maintains a solid understanding of the specific contract’s guidelines, requirements, and addendums. •Collaborates with team of PM, medical providers, nurses, and administrative staff for efficient processing of medical determinations. •Ensures contract and regulatory compliance and best medical practices. •Assists in formulating, documenting, maintaining, and implementing guidelines as dictated by medical directives and contractual or regulatory updates and requirements. •Maintains all relevant and required certifications and professional licenses. •Identifies examination protocols appropriate to job hazards and in compliance with client’s requirements, applicable laws, and standards. •Reviews all medical records generated from the occupational health exams and provides written opinion regarding medical suitability requirements. •Reviews occupational health medical examinations or diagnostics required by employee annual health risk assessment. •Reviews results of annual medical surveillances with employees and document conclusions regarding medical suitability for performing job functions in accordance with requirements. •Provides reports/ medical opinion regarding medical suitability. •Consults with Acuity International corporate medical staff when appropriate or upon request of PM. •May participate in interdepartmental project groups or task forces to integrate activities, communicate issues, and implement new policy requirements. •Provide occupational health services (i.e., post-offer physicals, occupational surveillance exams, medical monitoring, return to work exams etc.) •Ensures clinical and medical practices are aligned with Acuity International practices as well as professional standards and ethics, regulations and guidelines, best practices, and evidence-based principles. •Provides and assures consistency of clinical practice.

    Required Skills:

    •Excellent communication skills including public speaking.

    •Have fluent oral and written communication skills in English.

    •Must exhibit strong analytical ability to research and interpret detailed medical informationand effectively communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers, examinees, andclients.

    •Proficiency with computer and common office equipmentoExperience with Microsoft Office products is required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    •Minimum of five (5) years of post-residency clinical experience working as a Physician (Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor Osteopathy (DO). •Graduate of an accredited medical school.•Physician (Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor Osteopathy (DO) with unencumbered active medical license to practice medicine. •Current board certification in Preventive Medicine (Occupational, Aerospace, or Public Health & General Preventive), Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. •Strong clinical background required with out-patient clinical practice experience, including standard office based diagnostic testing. •The ability to be favorably credentialed according to Acuity International standards, policies, and guidelines. •Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). •Ability to pass a background check and investigation conducted by the Department of Homeland Security.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    •Current Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification•Certified in occupational medicine.•Certified medical examiner on the Federal MotorCarrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registry ishighly preferred..

    Physical Requirements:

    •Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

    •Work involves standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

    •May require bending, stooping, and lift up to 10 lbs.

    •Good eye / hand coordination required.

    •Constant use of sight, speech, hearing, frequent keying and use of computer, dictationdevices and common office equipment required.
