    Job Summary

    The client Occupational Therapist (OT) position is a school-based educational services role focused

    on helping students with disabilities access and participate in their educational programs. The

    therapist collaborates with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students'

    functional performance in the least restrictive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Conduct occupational therapy evaluations using appropriate assessment tools.

    2. Interpret assessment results and determine student eligibility for OT services.

    3. Participate as a member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team.

    4. Develop measurable OT goals and objectives within students' IEPs.

    5. Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services according to IEPs.

    6. Support students' participation in classroom, school, and functional activities.

    7. Recommend and implement environmental modifications and adaptive equipment.

    8. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers.

    9. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.

    10. Maintain accurate documentation, Medicaid billing (where applicable), service logs, and

    progress reports.

    11. Ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations, district policies, and

    ethical standards.

    12. Manage schedules and caseloads across assigned schools.

    Required Qualifications

    1. Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.

    2. Current Washington State Occupational Therapist license.

    3. Washington Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification (or ability to obtain, depending on

    hiring requirements).

    4. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.

    5. Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based occupational therapy practices.

    6. Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. Previous experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy.

    2. Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, orthopedic

    impairments, sensory processing challenges, and other educational disabilities.

    3. Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.

    4. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams.

    Remarks:

    One candidate need to work on the mentioned below locations

    School/Location:

    Rainier Middle School and Lea Hill Elementary (one school 3 days and one school 2 days)

    Assignment Dates:

    Start date – September 9 through end of school year

    We will ask that the candidate be available for a half day training the week prior.

    Candidate Requirements:

    Must have current licensing.
