Job Summary
Kidtastic Kids is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our special education preschool team. Our program serves preschool-aged children with developmental delays and disabilities in a nurturing, child-centered environment focused on helping every student reach their fullest potential.
The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluations, direct therapy services, consultation, and collaboration to support students in achieving their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. This role works closely with teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, physical therapists, administrators, and families to create meaningful progress for each child.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, collaborative, organized, and passionate about supporting young children’s independence, regulation, fine motor development, sensory processing, and school readiness skills.
Responsibilities
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for preschool-aged children in accordance with CPSE and NYSED requirements
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student IEP goals
Provide direct occupational therapy services in individual, classroom, and small-group settings
Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and families to support student progress across environments
Support students with fine motor development, sensory regulation, visual motor integration, adaptive skills, self-help skills, and classroom participation
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including session notes, progress reports, annual reviews, and required compliance paperwork
Participate in team meetings, annual reviews, and multidisciplinary collaboration
Consult with classroom teams regarding sensory strategies, adaptive equipment, and environmental supports
Maintain compliance with all NYSED, 4410 Preschool Special Education, and program requirements
Qualifications
Current New York State Occupational Therapy License required
Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
Experience with children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, sensory needs, or special education populations preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to maintain a compassionate, child-centered, and positive approach
