    Help Students Reach Their Potential

    TX-STAR Speech Language Services works with school districts across Texas to provide specialized services for students with developmental, sensory, and functional needs. We are currently seeking Occupational Therapists for school-based opportunities in Dallas and surrounding communities.

    These positions are well suited for clinicians who are passionate about helping students improve independence, participate more fully in school routines, and access their learning environments with greater confidence.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you will assess student needs and provide individualized services that support fine motor development, sensory processing, functional performance, and educational participation.

    In this role, you will:

    • Provide occupational therapy services connected to goals identified in students’ Individualized Education Programs

    • Evaluate fine motor skills, sensory needs, functional abilities, and participation within the school environment

    • Create and carry out individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings and educational priorities

    • Deliver services in person, through hybrid arrangements, or virtually when appropriate for the assignment

    • Partner with teachers, families, campus personnel, and multidisciplinary team members

    • Recommend accommodations, adaptive tools, environmental modifications, and classroom strategies

    • Help students participate more independently in instructional activities, daily routines, and campus settings

    • Review student progress and revise therapy approaches based on performance data and changing needs

    • Complete evaluations, service documentation, progress reports, and other required records accurately and on schedule

    • Attend ARD and IEP meetings and provide clinical observations, updates, and recommendations

    Qualifications for This Position

    • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline

    • Current and active Texas Occupational Therapy license

    • Knowledge of IEP procedures, special education services, and occupational therapy practices in school settings

    • Ability to independently manage assessments, treatment schedules, caseload responsibilities, and documentation

    • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment

    • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management abilities

    • Previous experience working with pediatric or school-based populations is preferred
