    Help Students Reach Their Potential

    TX-STAR Speech Language Services collaborates with school districts throughout Texas to provide specialized services for students with developmental, sensory, and functional needs. We are currently seeking Occupational Therapists for school-based opportunities in Austin, San Antonio, and surrounding communities.

    These positions are well suited for clinicians who are passionate about helping students build independence and develop the skills needed to engage successfully in classroom activities and daily school routines.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate student needs and deliver individualized services that support fine motor development, sensory processing, functional performance, and educational participation.

    In this role, you will:

    • Provide occupational therapy services that address goals established in students’ Individualized Education Programs

    • Assess fine motor coordination, sensory processing, functional abilities, and access to the learning environment

    • Create and implement individualized therapy plans based on evaluation results and educational priorities

    • Deliver services in person or through teletherapy, depending on assignment and district requirements

    • Coordinate with teachers, families, campus staff, and multidisciplinary team members

    • Recommend accommodations, adaptive strategies, and environmental supports that improve classroom participation

    • Help students access instructional materials, school routines, and educational activities more independently

    • Review student progress and modify interventions according to performance data and changing needs

    • Complete evaluations, service records, progress reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time

    • Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and provide clinical findings and recommendations

    Qualifications for This Position

    • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field

    • Current and active Texas Occupational Therapy license

    • Knowledge of IEP procedures, special education services, and school-based therapy practices

    • Ability to independently manage evaluations, therapy sessions, scheduling, and documentation

    • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team

    • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management abilities

    • Previous experience supporting pediatric or school-based populations is preferred
