    About the Role

    We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. In this role, you will help patients improve independence in daily activities, support treatment plans, document progress, and contribute to a safe, compliant clinical environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed OTA who is patient-focused, organized, and committed to compassionate care.

    Responsibilities

    Provide occupational therapy treatment and related services based on the Occupational Therapist’s evaluation and established plan of care.

    Help patients improve independence with daily living skills through instruction, observation, and adaptive strategies.

    Monitor patient response to treatment and promptly communicate significant findings or needed plan changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

    Complete accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, home exercise instruction, and other required records.

    Support clinic readiness by assisting with routine cleaning, equipment care, and supply organization.

    Follow all company policies, safety standards, HIPAA requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

    Perform other job-related duties as assigned within the scope of training and applicable law.

    Qualifications

    Associate degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

    Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Texas.

    Strong communication, documentation, and patient care skills.

    Ability to work collaboratively with therapists, patients, and clinical staff.

    Physical Requirements

    This role requires the ability to assist with patient care activities in a clinical setting, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and supporting patient movement as needed. Candidates must be able to perform the physical demands of the position safely and consistently.

    Confidentiality and Compliance

    This position handles sensitive patient information and requires strict adherence to confidentiality, privacy, and security standards, including HIPAA and organizational policies.

    Work Environment

    This position works in an outpatient healthcare setting and may involve exposure to clinical materials and patient care environments. The Occupational Therapy Assistant is expected to follow all safety, infection control, privacy, and compliance requirements.
