The Ocean Community YMCA is now seeking a STEAM Instructor/Planner for the afterschool program at Winthrop Elementary School in New London, CT.

The STEAM Program is an integrated approach to learning that includes Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.  

Qualifications include:

• Experience working with and planning activities for elementary school children
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable and dependable
• CPR/First Aid/AED/ Emergency Oxygen Administration- American Red Cross or equivalent OR willing to be trained

Responsibilities include:

• Planning, supervising, and implementing the program according to goals and policies
• Being responsible for the health and safety of the participants at all times
• Carrying out weekly plans and curriculum as directed by the Youth & Family Director
• Effectively communicating with participants and families
• Conducting self in a professional manner at all times
• Understanding and implementing emergency plans and procedures as necessary

This is a part-time position 1-2 afternoons per week.
