Job Title:
Detention and Demurrage Analyst
Department Summary:
The Chicago Strategic Yield Management Office will be responsible for balancing ONE’s dual goals of providing industry-leading operations while maximizing profitability.
In this capacity, they will act as an escalation point to resolve operational/financial disputes and requests in a timely fashion. They will also work to maximize profitability through proactive process improvement and cross-functional coordination.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage daily escalation requests related to Detention and Demurrage disputes from Offshore, Sales, and related divisions
Proactively work with related divisions to find out any opportunities for improvement in processes to reduce the number of disputes and escalation requests
Resolve issues related to outstanding Account Receivable through daily work and process improvement
Create necessary reports to analyze and evaluate the progress of activities and projects of Strategic Yield Management
Pro-actively work with Inland Operations, Vessel Control, Space Control, Service Center and Accounting departments to streamline processes resulting in sustainable yield management
Pro-actively support Director and Manager of Strategic Yield Management to develop and implement processes and business rules that customer needs, market conditions, and ONE targets

Function Specific Required Skills and Competencies:
Experience in liner operations/logistics/intermodal industry, including experience in Marketing and/or Operations (rail, truck, etc.)
Experience with Intermodal Detention and Demurrage preferred
Ability to work cooperatively with other departments within NA and globally
Proven high level of analytical experience and skills
Strong proficiency in MS applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of pivot tables and formulas in MS Excel and/or Google Sheets
Applies sound decision-making, knowledge of procedures when making daily decisions
Able to adapt to fast-changing situations
