    Job Description

    This position requires a strong combination of strategic thinking, ability to be consumer-led, analytical skills to identify and size growth opportunities, collaborative partnering to define and guide teams through project roadmaps, and creative problem-solving to commercialize strategies and product innovations.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO & WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

    • Assess consumer, competitive, and marketplace trends and conduct an in-depth analysis to identify strategic hunting grounds and new product opportunities or optimizations
      • Access to comprehensive and major business insight platforms such as IRI, Mintel, and other tools to immerse yourself in your project(s)
    • Establish business case to adapt portfolio in line with ever-evolving consumer needs and preferences through product, package, and channel strategies. Determine go-to-market (pricing/promotion) plans to best support your strategy.
      • Work closely with an experienced Marketing Manager to apply core marketing fundamentals to real-world scenarios. Partner with cross-functional experts in consumer and business insights, project management, research & development, revenue management, finance, sales, procurement, and other key functions to develop and refine your project(s)
    • Develop and understand costs and financial implications to all business decisions for your project(s); P&L responsibility and oversight in partnership with finance team
    • Co-lead cross-functional teams through a phased project framework to discover, define and finalize new products
      • Inclusion in all activity related to your project(s) with opportunity to lead team meetings. Ownership over your team’s progress
    • Create a plan for test market, identify key success metrics, and recommendations for scaling full go to market
    • Curate an internal and external pitch and toolkit to gain corporate buy-in and drive excitement with customers
      • Exposure to leadership and opportunity to share your own work with C-Suite executives in-person
      • Network with CPG industry leaders and create life-long business relationships

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Candidacy for an MBA in Marketing or Business Strategy is required for this position
    • Basic knowledge of marketing practices and principles with desire to apply this knowledge to real-world business cases during a 3-month summer internship
    • You should possess strong interpersonal, analytical, organization, and communication skills
    • Candidates should be self-starters who have demonstrated personal and thought leadership capabilities in prior responsibilities
    • You should be comfortable managing ambiguity and adapting to change as you develop, learn, and drive your business case forward

    Additional Information

    DURATION & LOCATION:

    • Position will start on June 1, 2020 and run for twelve weeks
    • Traditional workweek with Summer Fridays (8:00am-12:30pm); flexibility and off-site work may be required for project travel, experimental test runs, customer discovery
    • Position will require working out of two or more locations determined by team-project schedule. Four out of five days will be based in our Lighthouse Offices located in the Seaport District in Boston. One day per week will require presence in our corporate headquarters located in Lakeville, MA for in-person cross-functional team collaboration
