    Job Description

    Innovation at Ocean Spray has shifted into high-gear as we seek to become a leader in bringing innovative, better-for-you offerings to market – and fast.

    You are passionate about food & beverage to the point where you try new brands that catch your eye in store and easily try new foods and flavors – be it via new restaurants to perhaps testing the latest e-commerce functional beverage brand. 

    You’re good with jumping into the deep end on existing projects, organizing yourself to learn quickly, and proactively seeking out data (qualitative and quantitative) to turn into an insight that could drive the businesses. You won’t stop there, rather take it into a next step (i.e. action plan, got-to-market strategy, etc.) Taking ownership is big at Ocean Spray and there will be plenty of opportunity to be empowered to do so over your summer internship.

    THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT OUR LIGHTHOUSE BOSTON OFFICE IN THE SEAPORT DISTRICT. 

    WHAT YOU WILL DO & WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

    You’ll partner alongside an innovation guru in food & beverage to help support at least one innovation in progress. You’ll own your own workstreams - this could entail customer discovery and testing, market analysis (advanced: pricing, competition, retail), and feasibility assessment with final recommendations that may make themselves to market. You’ll experience agile innovation while working within a company that operates in a legacy industry. And of course, you’ll sample a lot of food/drinks and have fun!

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed (as of winter/spring 2020) an MBA/Master’s degree
    • Good energy, consumer empathy and open-mindedness, a positive “can-do” mindset, not afraid to jump right in
    • 2-4 years’ experience in Retail/Consumer or related: CPG/FMCG, Start-ups, Food+Tech, E-Commerce, etc.
    • Preferred 1-2 years’ experience in Food & Beverage related industries (Brand, Agency, Insights, Sales, Finance, etc.)
    • Comfortable with leveraging databases as you are talking with everyday folks (and vice-versa) for data set and insight building
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Additional Information

    DURATION & LOCATION:

    • Paid position will start June 1, 2020 and run for ten (10) to twelve (12) week
    • Traditional work week but with summer Fridays 8:00am-12:30pm; flexibility and off-site work may be required for project travel, experimental test runs, customer discovery
    • Position is located out of our Innovation Lighthouse office in Seaport (Boston)
