    Job Description

    • Perform logging of core and reverse circulation drill cuttings.
    • Prepare and update geologic database(s), maps, and other exploration records.
    • Performs geologic surface mapping, rock sampling, and other field activities.
    • Prepares samples and paperwork for laboratory submission.
    • Other duties as required.

    • At least 2 years’ progress towards a bachelor’s degree in Geosciences.
    • Must be enrolled as a student for the term following the internship period.
    • Appropriate knowledge of the principles and practices of geology
    • Proactive safety-driven mindset. Must follow accepted safety best practices and OGC/OGE procedures.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to work in adverse weather and terrain.
    • Current valid driver license and acceptable driving record.

    Physical Requirements:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
    • Must be able to work shift work with 12 hour shifts.
    • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
    • Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
    • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
