  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Monitor radio network condition and identify failures
    • Work with LV workshop to maintain trailers to insure minimum impact to radio network coverage
    • Diagnose failure mechanism for radio and onboard technology
    • Assist IT department in optimising radio network performance
    • Input to daily and weekly plan with regard to trailer moves and identify trailer locations and network configuration for required mining areas to insure coverage is achieved.
    • Liase with controllers, operators, and mining supervisors to identify network performance issues and track field performance
    • Conduct network surveys in field to monitor coverage status
    • Related technology repairs.
    • Installing and repairing KNS mobile trailers.
    • Maintain design map and audit trailer location vs plan
    • Assist mining operations with trailer moves and placement
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience working with field based radio networks is preferred
    • Previous experience working with mining fleet dispatch systems and corresponding radio networks is preferred
    • 1-5 years of experience in a hard rock mining environment
    • Competent with radio software
    • Introduction to machine configuration and calibrations (Includes measure-ups)
    • Introduction to MineStar onboard upgrades (TFG, TFL, TFD, DIM, HIM, TOPE)
    • Introduction to Radio Network (Installs & Infrastructure)
    • Introduction to HIM & DIM web interface
    • Introduction to MineStar Terrain installs
    • Introduction to MineStar Fleet Installs
    • Introduction to MineStar Health Installs

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
    2. Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
    3. Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
    4. Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
