    Job Description

    To assist the Department’s technical and operations personnel through maintaining safety and good health of personnel and clean working environment. Handle the section’s data entry, database management, paper works and document control. Facilitate events and activities within and for the department. Perform fieldwork including sampling and inspections.

    Responsibilities:

    • Administration: Produce, update, and provide best practice support on MS documents, general administrative duties, data entry and database maintenance. Organize and process requests for purchasing and warehouse withdrawals as needed within the department, receive, and facilitate processing of invoices from suppliers, contractors, entering budgetary information and similar.
    • Document Control: Maintain document control system including internal or external correspondence, policies, procedures, bulletins, or like documents.
    • Document Preparation: Prepare routine letters, memoranda, reports and similar documents following detailed instruction. This is likely to involve using the full range of functions within standard office software.
    • Business Meetings/Events Arrangement: Schedule appointments, make arrangements for meetings and conferences, and organize travel plans following detailed instructions to facilitate business meetings.
    • Work Scheduling and Allocation: Organize own work schedule to get the job done.
    • Performance Management: Complete allocated work to the required standards of quality and timeliness; use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
    • Environmental Compliance: sampling of surface water, ground water, storm water, etc.; complete inspections including storm water, waste storage, SPCC, SWPPP, etc.; data input of field data information and lab results.
    • Acquire and develop necessary background and environmental monitoring and sampling protocols.
    • Data management for compliance management systems and other sampling data systems.
    • Monitoring of appropriate mining and reclamation plans, and environmental controls for mine operations
    • Other reasonable duties as needed to fulfill the needs of the role.

    Additional Information

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, talk, hear, and see.
    • Be able to walk over rugged terrain up to 6 miles per day in hot & humid and/or cold weather with occasional rain & snow.
    • Must be able to work shift work with 12 hour shifts.
    • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
    • Work is in a surface mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
    • Safely operate 4WD light vehicles on highways, off-road, and on an active mine site.
    • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
