Our client based in Burbank, CA is actively seeking a Business Data Analyst to join their team on a contract basis. Ideal candidates will have experience in working with data science teams and analysts and contributing to data project initiatives. Prior experiences with product masterdata or financial data is a plus!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in multiple data initiatives focused around data centralization and transformation to create a self-serving data environment
• Lead business intelligence analytics requirements gather efforts with various business stakeholders and user groups
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams include architects and developers to define and implement data solutions that will support the overall data strategy
• Create data models and data mapping diagrams for data systems, including but not limited to data warehouses, data lakes, and product information management systems
• Collaborate with product data owners, data services teams and other business stakeholders to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
• Create and maintain detailed technical artifacts such as business requirement documents, logical data models, and data mapping diagrams
• Conduct data rationalization exercises with the business to determine the best approach for data storage and management
• Identify and promote best practices related to data modeling and data integrations
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ year’s experience as a Sr. Business Analyst
• Experience with Financial systems and processes required
• Extensive experience planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting, and managing business, functional and technical data requirements
• Expertise in modeling / mapping current-state data structure to future-state data structure
• Experience with both traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile / Lean methodologies
• Experience in test planning, test case development and execution
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Atlassian Suite, and other project management software
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities, and tasks under time constraints
• Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment
• Strong critical / analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• High energy level, adaptive and a strong team player with a good work ethic
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be a self-starter
