    Job Description

    FUNCTION: Reports to the CTS & Data Integrity Manager. Responsible for conducting outreach and recruitment activities in the community. Responsible for assisting new enrollees acclimate to center life during their first 90 days on center. Assist with behavioral concerns as they arise in efforts to retain students in the program. Works closely with Outreach & Admission Department, Center Standards & Incentive Department and the Business Community Liaison.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Demonstrates and abides by ODLE Core Values and operation principles.
    • Supports the Career Development Services System (CDSS) as it relates to individual position, department and overall goals.
    • Ensures that all Personally Identifiable Information (including DOL issued laptop) is securely stored at all times.
    • Conduct outreach in the community (High Schools, Other Training Programs, Community events) including speaking.
    • Attends, exhibits and presents at designated events including neighborhood and county activities/fairs, job fairs, job fairs. Resource fairs, and other events as directed by management.
    • Develops and maintains linkage with referral sources such as colleges, schools, human services agencies, youth organizations, recreation centers, DOL, national, state and local agencies.
    • Coordinates and maintains communication with CTS for coordinated support of outreach and placement.
    • Participates in industry advisory councils, community relations councils as assigned.
    • Participates in the development of new and revised policies and procedures affecting outreach and retention.
    • Promotes the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students and monitoring positive and negative behaviors.
    • Assist center and CTS with contacting UA students and non-responsive former enrollees and graduates as requested.
    • Provides additional assistance, as departmental needs are identified in meeting the overall department goals.
    • Attends and completes all required staff training sessions.
    • Assist with center tours in collaboration with the Outreach & Admission Department.
    • Collaborates and assists Counseling Department, Career Preparation Instructions and Outreach & Admission Department with retention of new intakes.
    • New Intakes: Meet and enters a weekly case note during the first 30 days on center. Enter a monthly case notes for 31-60 days on center and a final monthly case noted for 61-90 days on center.
    • Creates a monthly calendar for outreach events and any other events assigned by management.
    • Arrange and attend 3 Outreach events per week.
    •  Focus Group: Hold one monthly focus group with pre-90 students to identify challenges, setback & barriers students may be encountering.
    •  Assist Center Standards & Incentive Department with student behavioral concerns for retention purposes.
    •  Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
    • Maintains accountability of staff, students and properly and adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibilities. 
    •  Cultivates and maintains  a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
    •  Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS              

    • Bachelor’s degree. Two years of experience in sales, marketing, counseling-related field or workforce development.
    • Prefer Job Corps experience or four years’ experience working with youth and young adults.
    • Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • This position involves frequent sitting, walking, standing and driving. Ability to obtain and maintain valid CPR/First Aid Certificate. Ability to communication effectively and relate to trainee population. Ability to inspire and motivate students.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments. Good organizational skills. Communication skills, both oral and written.
