Summary of Position:
As a host/hostess you will be the first point of contact for all restaurant guests. You will greet all guests with a warm and friendly welcome, provide them with accurate wait times (if applicable) and escort them to their table. Hosts must effectively coordinate and control the seating, using their organizational skills and communicating with the rest of the staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet guests with a friendly welcome.
Escort guests to table and provide menus.
Manage wait list and provide accurate wait times (if applicable).
Correctly assign tables to servers.
Coordinate and control the seating of the dining room.
Collaborate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain an organized and tidy host/hostess station.
Be ready and willing to assist serves as situations arise.
Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions.
Perform side work during down time, such as cleaning menus, rolling silverware, etc.
Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
Must have strong communication skills
Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Have organizational skills to properly use seating chart
Ability to multitask and prioritize
