    Job Title: Community Engagement Office Assistant

    Job Location: Norfolk, VA

    Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week

    Payrate: $17.00/hour

     

    Job Duties:

    As a vital resource to the Norfolk community, Norfolk Public Library continuously works to share information about its resources and programs. We are looking for detail-oriented people with strong communication and organizational skills that can help with clerical and administrative tasks, and help support the Volunteer Program, Express Book Nooks and Mobile Delivery Projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Providing office support for Norfolk Public Library’s Community Engagement Office
    • Providing office support for Norfolk Public Library’s Volunteer Program
    • Processing materials for the Express Book Nooks and Mobile Delivery
    • Basic clerical tasks
    • Compiling statistics and reports
    • Office organization and inventory

     

    Qualifications:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
    • Ability to use technology including Laptop, Camera and Microsoft 365 software
    • Must be able to pass a background check
    • Position requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
