Christensen Recycling is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented office and operations coordinator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced scrap metal, catalytic converter, and roll-off environment. This position requires someone who is good with computers, types efficiently, is comfortable using Excel and internal tracking systems, and can handle phones, emails, customer intake, scale operations, live dispatch, scheduling, yard camera oversight, and daily office coordination.

This role is responsible for helping keep the operation organized, accurate, and moving throughout the day. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls, completing customer intake forms, assisting with scale activity, supporting roll-off scheduling, live dispatching calls to OTR drivers, tracking dumpster jobs, communicating with drivers, overseeing yard activity through cameras, and keeping Ken informed of problems by email so recurring issues can be fixed properly for the long term.

The ideal candidate must be organized, focused, dependable, and able to multitask between phones, computer work, scale traffic (about 15 trucks per day), live dispatch, scheduling, paperwork, customer communication, driver coordination, and yard oversight. Accuracy is extremely important. Dispatch mistakes, missed calls, incomplete paperwork, poor tracking, yard bottlenecks, or failure to communicate problems can directly affect revenue, customer service, and operational efficiency.

This position plays a key role in keeping the company running clean, structured, and efficient. Success in this role means schedules are accurate, calls are handled properly, jobs are tracked, drivers are coordinated, customers are taken care of, yard activity is monitored, problems are reported, and the office stays in control of the daily flow.

    Key Responsibilities:

Answer phones and capture all customer information accurately

Complete intake forms and job details 100% of the time

Assist with scale operations and customer check-ins

Use Excel and computer systems to track jobs, schedules, and paperwork

Help manage roll-off dumpster scheduling and daily job flow

Live dispatch incoming calls and opportunities to OTR drivers in the proper territory

Communicate with drivers and office staff throughout the day

Track dumpster numbers, customer requests, pickups, deliveries, and job status

Monitor yard cameras to oversee material throughput and operational flow

Confirm dumpsters are being dumped properly into the pit and not creating yard congestion

Watch for bottlenecks, missed dumps, unsafe material placement, or delays in yard movement

Identify & and emailing Ken with recurring operational problems, mistakes, or breakdowns in communication

Email Ken with problems, patterns, and performance issues so sustainable long-term solutions can be created

Support paperwork accuracy, billing details, and administrative follow-up

Help keep the office, scale, yard, drivers, and daily operation organized and under control

Maintain professionalism with customers, drivers, and team members

    Position Summary:

This is not just a basic office job. This is an operations-control position. The person in this role helps protect revenue, customer relationships, scheduling accuracy, driver execution, yard flow, communication, and daily operational control.

The right candidate must be good on the computer, comfortable typing, organized with Excel, confident answering phones, capable of working the scale, able to dispatch live calls to OTR drivers, alert enough to monitor yard activity through cameras, and disciplined enough to report problems to Ken by email when issues arise.

The goal is simple: keep the office, scale, phones, scheduling, live dispatch, yard flow, job tracking, and problem reporting running clean and tight every day. Accuracy, communication, control, and long-term improvement are the standard.
