Job Description
Intern will report directly to Fiscal Officer, who will not only supervise the position but also provide an educational component to each assigned task. Intern will not only perform tasks as directed, but they will be encouraged to develop new ideas and systems to aid in the ongoing improvement of accounts payable/claims management. Former interns who have served in this position have gone on to work in several large-name investment institutions. INTERN APPLICANTS MUST BE RESIDENTS OF NASSAU COUNTY, NY.

Qualifications

Responsibilities include: assist with organization and maintenance of current archive, review claims that are past retention date and prepare for destruction, investigate and catalogue various documents, review and catalogue inactive contracts, and assist in general office support under direct supervision of Fiscal Officer. Applicant must be self-starter, able to negotiate projects as directed and generate ongoing feedback. Relevant majors include: Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Pre-Law, Operations, and IT.
