    Job Description

    Intern will work and learn in a fast-paced government office, working with the Director of Public Information and Policy and Deputy Director of Public Information and Content Development.  INTERN APPLICANTS MUST BE CURRENT RESIDENTS OF NASSAU COUNTY, NY.

    Qualifications

    Primary responsibility focuses on developing engaging content for digital channels, including social media and the County website. Interns will create video and written content to drive messaging of the office and assist in other communications activities, including press conferences; monitoring press engagement; cultivating intra-office press clips; and ultimately supporting the messaging of the office by developing engaging content for press, social media, and related channels.

    Prospective interns should be a communications, videography, journalism, media arts, or other relevant major interested in getting first-hand experience in government with a passion for creating content, specifically for digital channels. Knowledge of Canva, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suites, and related software is strongly preferred.
