    We are seeking to hire a FAILURE ANALYSIS ENGINEER, IRELAND to join our team based at our corporate headquarters located in Limerick, Ireland.

     

    The Failure Analysis Engineer, Ireland will will perform failure analysis on field returns, manufacturing process failures, and for new products recently released to production; support in-house test engineering in defining and refining test procedures for all products to assure extended reliable operation in the field and provide product training and troubleshooting support at the contract manufacturer if necessary.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Failure analysis of field returns and manufacturing process failures to identify root cause and recommend corrective actions to reduce the mode of failure.
    • Communicate failure analysis to Test Engineering and Product Development Engineering to result in improved product design and improved product testing to enhance the field reliability of the product.
    • Record and track failure modes and repair information for use in identifying trends.
    • Train sub-contract manufacturer personnel in product failure analysis skills.
    • Assist Test Engineering in development of manufacturing process and test methods, processes, procedures, and equipment that will improve product quality and performance, and process efficiency and effectiveness, including the process of failure analysis.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience performing failure analysis on complex, microprocessor based products.
    • Component level debug of microprocessor products using digital oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
    • Familiarity with designs which contain FPGAs and CPLD components.
    • Familiarity with RF technology and the use of spectrum analyzers a plus.
    • Normal office activity, ability to travel including periodic overnight travel, ability to work extended hours when necessary, and ability to move around facility to meet with employees.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
    • Extensive mental abilities and activities required: ability to use educated and intuitive judgement, ability to manage projects, communicate clearly both written and oral, manage conflict, use upper level reasoning, and perform research.
