Lead Swim Instructor
Summary:
Leads small groups of instructors (Pods) and teaches swim lessons. Shape a positive culture and working environment by encouraging team members and effectively updating the leadership team on how team members are doing. Maintains an open line of communication with team members in your pod and holds them accountable when you see a mistake made or are told about a mistake that was made. Exhibits a high level of knowledge of the OSA curriculum and exemplifies OSA core values.
Compensation & Hours:
This position is part time. Compensation level is $16-$18, dependent on experience, hours involve evenings and Saturdays (OSA is closed Sundays).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required to be trained as a Survival Instructor and teach at least 4 survival instructor shifts
Provides general support and mentorship to instructors
Monitors skill levels of students, ensuring levels are kept up to date by instructors.
Quality Controls student progression.
Communicates with instructors about curriculum, troubleshooting, progression, performance and manages instructor issues.
Four shifts where you are teaching lessons.
Be a part of our Saturday rotation deck shift or have a Saturday shift where you are teaching lessons.
One evening deck shift or at least two evening shifts where you are teaching lessons.
Meets regularly with the Aquatic Coordinator; summarizes instructor performance.
Monthly reports and weekly reports
Discuss customer complaints that involve an instructor in your pod with that specific pod people
Stay for full shift to watch your pod members teach and general help
Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED. 2 years of swim instructor experience preferred. Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or teacher preferred. College degree preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: CPR/AED, First Aid certifications required within the first 90 days.
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
