    Old Spanish Days in Santa Barbara, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation dedicated to honoring and preserving Santa Barbara's history, spirit, culture, heritage and traditions. This 95-year-old organization produces an annual eight day festival -- Fiesta -- that is widely regarded as Santa Barbara's premier festival. Old Spanish Days is looking for an office coordinator to assist with the Festival's two Mercados and the Arts and Craft event. This is a seasonal job, starting with part-time status and training in April and ramping up to full-time status in June as preparations are made for the Fiesta which takes place July 31-August 4, 2019. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Process applications for the following committees: Arts & Crafts, Mercado del Norte, and Mercado de la Guerra. Update applications as necessary, distribute, receive, sort and file. Maintain Mercado computer and binder files by sorting and filing; ensure filing is up-to-date at all times; archive files and make new folders as necessary. Staff the counter to sell event tickets, merchandise and provide general assistance to the public May run other errands as necessary (mail, deliveries, etc.). May open and close the office according to direction of 1st V.P and/or Operations Manager. Coordinate Old Spanish Days website, including updating all dates, as well as event and venue information. Assist Mercado/Arts & Crafts chairpersons with all general Mercado duties. Answer booth-holder vendor inquires and track booth holder information. Assist with application processing, collection of funds, record-keeping and organizing participant information. Work with Health Department to insure all vendors comply with regulations. Assist Mercado chairpersons to find new vendors. Assist the week of event with on site needs as needed by Officers, Division Chiefs and/or Chairs. Obtain and maintain records of permits and insurance for all vendors, including payments, and assist with refunds after Fiesta. Requirements: English/Spanish Language Proficiency is helpful High level of organizational skills Excellent customer service/people skills Proficient in Word and Excel Must have a valid California Drivers license Must enjoy working in a busy office and have great customer skills.
